Moscow has a well developed transportation system which makes any Moscow travel quite trip enjoyable. Moscow has five airports, which are located in different parts of the city and handle domestic and international flights to Russia. Sheremetyevo is located in the northern part of the city and is the closest airport to the downtown of Moscow. To get to the airport from the city the tourists can take a train or a bus. Domodedovo is another big airport of Moscow, which handles domestic and international flights. Domodedovo is the farthest airport of Moscow. The airport is connected with Vnukovo airport by an express bus connection. Domodedovo is more modern airport than Sheremetyevo and has better transport links to the center.
Railway system is also well developed in Moscow. There are nine railway stations in the city, which offer long-distance and local train services. Moscow lies at the western end of the Trans-Siberian railway. You can to Moscow by train from any part of Europe and Central Asia.
Metro plays a very important role in the transportation system of the city. It connects different parts of Moscow and is one of the most convenient and easy ways to travel around the city. Most Muscovites use metro as the basic transportation way.
You can also reach Moscow via river on a Russia cruise. In fact, Moscow river connects Moscow to the Volga River and 5 different seas!
